My name is Kim Gode and I am owner and potter behind the small batch pottery studio, Lera and Eld Ceramics. Lera and Eld means “Earth and Fire” in Swedish. As a transplant to Minnesota, I was immediately taken with the Scandinavian influences all around me. Through my work, I try and pay homage to the simple comfort and functionality that is the cornerstone of Scandinavian design. Key elements in my work are simple well balanced forms with an unexpected subtle twist through a texture, hidden pop of color, or a rich glaze combination. I strive to make pieces that are not only functional for use in everyday life but feel good in your hands as you interact with them. It is my wish for those who enjoy my work to slow down and find joy in the most simple daily activities. Lera and Eld Ceramics are made from local stoneware and porcelain clays. All functional kitchenware is dishwasher safe, microwave safe and oven safe.
